Q. Is my registration fee tax-deductible?

Q. What is included in the registration fee?
   A. You will get a Race number, a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® t-shirt, and a great feeling!

Q. How can I register?
   A. You can register online by clicking here. You can also register offline by downloading this form and mailing to this address: Hermes Sports and Events, 2425 West 11th Street, Suite #2, Cleveland, Ohio 44113.

Q. How will I receive my Race packet including t-shirt?
   A. For a small charge of just $8 per participant, you may choose to receive your Race packet in the mail (select the "Packet Mailing" option at Registration). In order to receive a mailed packet, you must register by September 7.

Q. How long is the Race?
   A. The Race is a 5K route, which is approximately 3.1 miles. There is also a shorter route option (approximately 1 mile). You may choose to walk or run either route. If you are unable to walk or run, you can still register and join us on Race day. We are always looking for people to cheer on our runners and walkers.

Q. How can I become a volunteer?
A. The success of the Komen Southeast Wisconsin Race depends heavily on the support we receive from our volunteers in the months leading up to the Race and on Race Day. There are many ways you can get involved, for more information, click here.

Q. Are pets allowed at the event?
   A. Pets are NOT allowed at the event due to City of Milwaukee restrictions and for the safety and comfort of all participants.

Q. Are strollers allowed at the event?
   A. Yes! Strollers are permitted on the Race course; however, if your child is old enough to walk and enjoy the activities in the post-Race area, we encourage you to register them as Youth participants to help cover the cost of kids activities and prizes.

Q. What if it rains?
   A. Komen holds the right to cancel or change the date or location of the Race in its sole discretion, including in the circumstance of extreme weather. It is likely, however, that the event will happen rain or shine. Please dress accordingly.

Fundraising FAQ

Q. Does the Komen Race for the Cure® require fundraising?
   A. You are not required to fundraise, but we do encourage all participants to fundraise above the entry fee. Just Imagine the IMPACT - If every Race participant raises just $100 in addition to their registration fee, we would bring in an additional $1,000,0000 to support local screening, treatment and educational programs in our community!

Q. Does the money raised stay right here in our community?
   A. Yes! Up to seventy-five percent of the net income from the Race stays right here in our Wisconsin to fund vital breast cancer health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs. To see a list of our current grantee programs, please visit our 2016-2017 Grantee page and visit our grantees in the Mission Village area on Race morning.
The remaining twenty-five percent supports Komen’s national research and training grants program

Q. Where do I send donations?
   A. If you have collected donations, you may bring them to the registration tent on Race Day, or mail to:

Susan G Komen Southeast Wisconsin Race for the Cure
c/o Hermes Sports and Events
2425 West 11th Street, Suite #2
Cleveland, Ohio 44113

For donations on behalf of an individual participant or a team, please include that information with your check. You can use this check/cash donation form.

Q. Is there a deadline for fundraising?
   A. All donations on your behalf that are received by October 31, 2017 will be credited to your fundraising total.

Q. What are some ways I can fundraise for my team/my individual goal?
   A. We have plenty of ideas on our Fundraising Tips page!

Q. Is it true I can get my registration fee refunded?
   A. Yes! Every paid registered race participant that fundraises $60 ($50 for kids) has the option of having their $30 registration fee ($25 for kids) refunded OR having the $30 credited to their personal fundraising page. For more information click here.

Q. Are there prizes for fundraising
   A. Yes!! When you fundraise $60 your registration is on us! You can have it refunded or add it to your fundraising total to keep your earnings growing. There are more great incentives you can earn when your fundraising gets to $158, $295, $500, and even $2250! Plus, the top 50 Race for the Cure fundraisers will be honored as the new Pink Honor Roll and there is lots of pride, as well as great perks, that go along with that title. Learn more here.

Q. What about fundraising after the Race?
   A. Fundraising for the race goes through October 31st. It is especially fun and effective to fundraise during October Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Every dollar earned in October is credited to your personal fundraising page as well as your team page if you are a team member.
