General Race Information
Q. When is the Race?
A. The Race will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Registration begins at 6am with the Race starting at 8:30am.
Q. Where is the Race?
A. The Race will be held at Agora at Fitchburg Center - 5500 East Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711. Note: There is limited parking at Agora. Please visit the Maps and Parking page for more information.
Q. Where do we park on Race day?
A. There is limited parking at Agora at Fitchburg Center. Click here to view our parking map. To avoid Race day traffic, hop on our FREE Badger Bus Lines Race Shuttles. Shuttles will travel continuously to and from WPS Health Solutions (1717 Broadway, Madison) to Agora at Fitchburg Center. Shuttles will also travel continuosly to and from Arbor Gates Development (2501 West Beltline Highway, Madison) to Agora at Fitchburg Center. Both location shuttles will run from 6am until Noon. WPS Health Solutions has free surface lot parking. Arbor Gates Development has free parking in the ramp behind the building. Please do not park in any reserved parking spaces.
Q. How long is the Race?
A. The Race is a 5K route, which is approximately 3.1 miles. There is also a shorter route option (approximately a half mile). You may choose to walk or run either route. To view the course maps, please click here. If you are unable to walk or run, you can still register and join us on Race day. We are always looking for people to cheer on our runners and walkers.
Q. What is Sleep In for the Cure®?
A. Sleep in for the Cure® allows you to support the Race even if you prefer to sleep in on Race day! Register as a Sleep in for the Cure® participant on or before May 5, and you will receive your shirt before the Race. Register after May 5, and your shirt may arrive after Race day.
Q. How can I become a volunteer?
A. The success of the Komen South Central Wisconsin Race depends heavily on the support we receive from our volunteers in the months leading up to the Race and on Race Day. Q. Are pet and strollers allowed at the event?
A. Pets are prohibited from the event, but strollers are permitted.
Q. Do you have bag check?
A. Due to security reasons, we WILL NOT accept bags. Susan G. Komen Wisconsin is not responsible for any lost items. Unattended bags will be removed by Security.
Q. What if it rains?
A. This race will be held rain or shine. In the case of lightning or other severe weather, the event will either be delayed until the weather clears or cancelled all together. Any decision made to go forth with the event is contingent on the overall event and course safety, and is made in collectively with local risk management, police, fire & rescue, and medical personnel as appropriate. There will not be a scheduled rain date. If the race is canceled there will be NO REFUNDS. Susan G. Komen Wisconsin has a NO REFUND policy. There are no refunds for any reason. A. This year, we have standard pricing leading up to the Race.

Q. Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
A. No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.
Q. What is included in the registration fee?
A. You will get Susan G. Komen South Central Wisconsin Race for the Cure® t-shirt and a great feeling! NOTE: Our affiliate now incurs the cost of t-shirts. T-shirt sizes and overall availability are not guaranteed. Thank you for understanding.
Q. How will I receive my Race packet including t-shirt?
A. Team captains and individuals who did not choose to have their Race packet mailed, can pick up their Race packets and t-shirts at the Komen Madison office located at 6527 Normandy Lane, #201, on Wednesday, May 16 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm; at the Fitchburg Community Center on Friday, May 18 from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm or at the Pre-Registered Tent on Race day beginning at 6:00 am.

Q. Does the Komen Race for the Cure® require fundraising?
A. You are not required to fundraise, but we do encourage all participants to fundraise above the entry fee. Just Imagine the IMPACT - If every Race participant raises just $100 in addition to their registration fee, we would bring in an additional $300,000 to support local screening, treatment and educational programs in our community! Our goal this year is to see every Race participant fundraise!
Q. Is there a rewards program for my fundraising efforts?

Q. Does the money raised stay right here in our community?
A. Yes! Up to seventy-five percent of the net income from the Race stays right here in our community to fund vital breast cancer health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs. The remaining twenty-five percent supports Komen's national research and training grants program.
Q. Where do I send donations?
A. For donations on behalf of an individual participant or a team, please include that information with your check. Donations can be dropped off in our Donations Tent on Race day. Or mailed to:

Q. Is there a deadline for fundraising?
A. All donations on your behalf that are received by June 30, 2018 will be credited to your fundraising total.
Q. What are some ways I can fundraise for my team/my individual goal?

Q. I was registered for the Race by another person. How do I access my Participant Center?
A. If you know your User Name, visit the Participant Center login page, enter your User Name, and Click on FORGOT PASSWORD along the right hand side of the page. If you do not know your User Name, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to have your Username sent to you.
Q. How do I form a team?
A. If you haven't registered for the Race yet, you can register online and select “Start a Team” or “Join a Team”. Search for the name of the team you want to join and select it. For more information, contact us at 608-421-3652 or at email@example.com.
Q. What are the benefits of a team?
A. Forming or joining a team multiplies the fun you will have on Race day. You can create a team to celebrate a survivor or honor someone you have lost. You can also create a corporate team and get your entire company involved.
Q. What is a team page?
A. Your Team page is a Web page that people can visit to find a team member or give a donation that supports the fundraising efforts of the entire team. Although the default Team page contains sample text and photos, your Team Captain can customize this page to make it a creative expression of the Team commitment to Komen and our fight against breast cancer.
Q. Do teams have to fundraise?
A. Teams are not required to fundraising but we strongly encourage fundraising. Fundraising as a team can be fun. Click here to get a list of fundraising events your team can do.
Q. Can our company pay all or a portion of our team sign up fees?
A. Yes! Just give us a call at 608-421-3652 or email firstname.lastname@example.org requesting a team code to register.
Q. How do I register on my corporate team if my company is paying my registration fee?
A. Your company must contact us to set up your team as a corporate pay for online. A special designation will be given to you to provide to registrations. It can be set up for your company to pay a dollar amount or a percentage of the fee.
Q. When is Team Packet Pick-up?
A. Team captains can pick up their Race packets at the Fitchburg Community Center on Friday, May 18 between 11am to 6pm or at the Pre-Registered Tent on Race day.
Q. One of my team members registered as an individual when they meant to join my team. How do they correct this?
A. In order to change your registration from individual to team member, please email us at info@Komenwisconsin.org with the individual’s name and the team name they’d like to be added to.
Q. Can donations made to a team be split or shared among team members?
A. We are unable to split or transfer donations between individual and team accounts.
